Today, I went to visit kehsi, where my grand fathers and great grand father had lived. My grand father is the ruler of the town, called saopha in Shan and Sawbwar in Myanmar. First of all, I visited the palace, also called 'Haw' in Shan. The building that used to be a palace was donated as a monastery by my grand father. I went to see the renovation that needed to be done to the monastery. I consulted the chief monk there about the requirments and his wishes also and noted down the tasks that I needed to contribute. We wished to renovate the monastery to look like the palace. Below you can see the palace and current situation - the upper parts of the palace was ruined by termites.
I proposed the sketch drawings of the palace to the monk and told him that I will look for a structure engineer for the construction and estimates.
Then, I visited nearby places in and around Kehsi. Kehsi is a town with may water spring - there are many lake and springs in and near the town. I had a chance to enjoy the beautiful nature also.
On the way back, I visited a house in a Shan village. I am treated with some cucumber as snack. I had a change to take a glace at their way of living.
Today, I got many new experiences meeting people and visiting places. Having a chance to touch the nature was wonderful. Those are some of the activities for today.
