Short rainy run / exploring new routes to train elevation gains

Hi all!

It is weekend again! Time for some fun runs! My week was quite busy that’s why I could not run my usual runs. Today my oldest daughter is at here dancing class again so that gave me my a perfect window to try a new short route.

The route was a 350m threesided route. The short side was a small climb after which I had a small flat part. Finally I had a gradual decline.

My goal was to start practicing with elevating gains while keeping a steady tempo. While the overall elevation gains are only 50m - they were pretty concentrated in a very short part of the route. Overall very fun run - but will look for an alternative that gives a little more elevation gains and less flat meters.

While it was raining pretty heavily it didn’t bother me at all as I was wearing a cap and I was running on paved routes. So it just was an advantage today as this part of my town is usually a popular area for runners and can be a little crowded (now I enjoyed the route myself)

Tomorrow I will try to mix an easy long run with some elevation gains. Hopefully some forest area so I could also run some unpaved routes!
