Stroll, music and Christmas (Eng/Esp)

The arrangements to celebrate Christmas in Cumaná are progressing satisfactorily. On one of my walks I went back to the Bolivar Square, as I had to walk around the place to go to Comercio Street. I noticed that the decorations were well advanced and they have already installed the metal frames and lights. Everything is taking shape.  On this occasion I noticed that the Government Palace looked different, as I approached I noticed that a group of workers were cleaning the surroundings and painting the great facade, again in white. Undoubtedly, this color makes the design look elegant, above all, enhances the goddesses Paria and Araya that are at the top of the building. For more than 20 years, since it was burned down during protests, the structure has been abandoned. Now they are trying to give it a new life, at least in terms of painting. The work being done is not repair or remodeling, only the facade is being retouched so that it does not clash with the rest of the Christmas decorations.  Likewise, I was pleased to see the square with this spirit of renewal, it is always nice to enjoy good environments when I make my walks around the city. Of course, the statue of Simón Bolívar also received its token of affection because it looked shiny and a floral offering was placed at its feet.  To brighten up my walk, some musicians were rehearsing next to the Andrés Eloy Blanco house, right in front of Fundacultura. Cuatro and mandolin were playing in rhythm, preserving Sucre's culture for the next generations. It is nice to see this display of musical skills in the street, it continues to confirm to me that Cumana is a cradle of talent.  On my walk I also observed the trees and bushes, lush and green, decorating the square. The shade they provide makes it pleasant to stay there for a while to contemplate the sunset. Undoubtedly, it is nice to breathe fresh air and have a space to reflect or simply not think about anything and just enjoy to the fullest those moments that generates well-being.  I did not hesitate to take a selfie to immortalize the moment, I was accompanied by my faithful Liketu cap, perfect to protect me from the sun. On this occasion, I decided to wear my hair down, in the best Gloria Trevi style 😅. Walking around the city brings me pleasant memories, so I collect many and I will have many anecdotes to tell little Alma, I imagine she will want to hear her mother's stories 😅.

Los arreglos para celebrar la Navidad en Cumaná van avanzando de forma satisfactoria. En uno de mis paseos volví a transitar por la plaza Bolívar, pues debía recorrer el lugar para ir a la Calle Comercio. Me fijé que las decoraciones estaban bastante adelantadas ya han instalado los armazones metálicos y las luces. Todo está tomando forma.  En esta ocasión noté que el Palacio de Gobierno lucía distinto, al aproximarme advertí que un grupo de obreros estaba limpiando los alrededores y pintando la gran fachada, nuevamente de blanco. Sin duda, este color hace que el diseño se vea elegante, sobre todo, realce a las diosas Paria y Araya que se encuentran en la cumbre de la edificación. Desde hace más de 20 años, desde que fue quemada durante unas protestas, la estructura fue abandonada. Ahora se intenta darle una nueva vida, al menos en lo que respecta a la pintura. Los trabajos que se realizan no son de reparación o remodelación, solo la fachada está siendo retocada para que no desentone con el resto de la decoración navideña.  De igual forma, me agradó ver la plaza con este espíritu de renovación, siempre es grato disfrutar de buenos ambientes cuando realizo mis caminatas por la ciudad. Por supuesto que también la estatua de Simón Bolívar recibió su muestra de cariño porque lucía reluciente y además a sus pies destacaba una ofrenda floral.  Para alegrar mi paseo, unos músicos ensayaban al lado de la casa Andrés Eloy Blanco, justo frente a Fundacultura, allí estaban engalanando la escena. Cuatro y mandolina sonaban acompasados, preservando la cultura sucrense para las siguientes generaciones. Es agradable ver este despliegue de habilidades musicales en la calle, me continúa confirmando que Cumaná es una cuna de talentos.  En mi caminata también observé los árboles y los arbustos, frondosos y verdes, que decoraban la plaza. La sombra que nos brindan hace que sea agradable quedarse allí un rato a contemplar el atardecer. Sin duda, es grato respirar aire puro y tener un espacio para reflexionar o simplemente no pensar en nada y solo disfrutar al máximo esos instantes que te genera bienestar.  No dudé en tomarme una selfie para inmortalizar el momento, me acompañaba mi fiel gorra de Liketu, perfecta para protegerme del sol. En esta ocasión, decidí llevar el cabello suelto, al mejor estilo de Gloria Trevi 😅. Pasear la ciudad me trae gratos recuerdos, así voy coleccionando muchos y tendré diversas anécdotas que contar a la pequeña Alma, imagino que ella querrá escuchar las historias de su madre 😅.
