Walking, art and contemplation (Eng/Esp)

Walking has become a hobby for me, on those walks I not only breathe fresh air and connect with nature in a special way, but I also sharpen my eyes and always find artistic manifestations to admire. In the city there is talent, you can see it in some of the murals that beautify the streets and which we stumble upon by chance.  Walking along Miranda Avenue I discovered a wall quite striking because it showed images related to the city of Cumaná, which were arranged to advertise **Bicibon**, a store related to the sale of bicycles, spare parts, clothing and cycling tools.  The young sucrense artist Daniella Zapata, whose pseudonym is Dana Palooza, shows us her qualities painting different historical and cultural icons of the city. The central image refers to the Castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia, where we find several cyclists making their way outdoors. Behind, in blue tones, we can see the Santa Inés church, the most emblematic religious temple of this territory.  On the right side of the mural, we observe the statue of the Indian and the Franciscan, a work sculpted by Hugo Daini in 1965 and located in the El Monumento sector of the Perimetral Avenue. Further down in the painting some boats appear to accentuate the marine landscape characteristic of the state of Sucre.  Likewise, on the left side, we observe the image of a statue that is well known by the old-guard Cumaneses, since it is "The Indian of Cumaná", a work created by Giuseppe Pizzo in 1955 and that for decades meant the entrance door to the city, welcoming tourists and inhabitants who set foot in this land of grace.  I rarely pass by this part of the avenue, for this reason, I was surprised to see the colorful mural that brightened my sight and I hope yours too. These walks on alternate routes usually make us happy because at the same time that we get to know a part of the city we break with the daily routine that prevents us from contemplating life from another perspective.

Caminar se ha vuelto un hobby para mí, en esos paseos no solo respiro aire puro y me conecto con la naturaleza de forma especial sino que agudizo mi mirada y siempre encuentro manifestaciones artísticas que admirar. En la ciudad hay talento, se puede apreciar en algunos murales que embellecen las calles y con los cuales nos topamos por casualidad.  Transitando por la avenida Miranda descubrí una pared bastante llamativa porque mostraba imágenes relacionadas con la ciudad de Cumaná, las cuales fueron dispuestas para realizar la publicidad de **Bicibon**, tienda relacionada con la venta de bicicletas, repuestos, ropa y herramientas de ciclismo.  La joven artista sucrense Daniella Zapata, cuyo seudónimo es Dana Palooza, nos da muestra de sus cualidades pintando diferentes íconos históricos y culturales de la ciudad. La imagen central hace referencia al Castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia, allí encontramos a varios ciclistas que realizan su recorrido al aire libre. Detrás, en tonos azules, se observa la iglesia Santa Inés, el templo religioso más emblemático de este territorio.  Del lado derecho del mural, observamos la estatua del indio y el franciscano, obra esculpida por Hugo Daini en 1965 y que se encuentra en el sector El monumento de la avenida Perimetral. Más abajo en la pintura aparecen unos botes para acentuar el paisaje marino característico del estado Sucre.  Igualmente, del lado izquierdo, observamos la imagen de una estatua que es muy conocida por los cumaneses de la vieja guardia, pues se trata de "El indio de Cumaná", obra creada por Giuseppe Pizzo en 1955 y que durante décadas significó la puerta de entrada a la ciudad, dando la bienvenida a turistas y habitantes que pisan esta tierra de gracia.  Suelo pasar pocas veces por esta parte de la avenida, por tal razón, me sorprendí al observar el colorido mural que alegró mi vista y espero que la de ustedes también. Estas caminatas por vías alternas suelen alegrarnos el rato porque a la vez que se conoce un parte de la ciudad se rompe con la cotidianidad que nos impide contemplar la vida desde otra perspectiva.
